What is Astrology?

Astrology is the study of the stars and how their movements and positions can influence human life and events on Earth. It’s one of the oldest sciences and was originally used as the first calendar to predict seasonal changes and communicate with the heavens.

A Brief History

Astrology has roots in many ancient cultures, including the Indians, Arabs, Greeks, Romans, and Mayans. For centuries, it was a respected field of study in academia. However, during the scientific revolution, astrology was criticized because it couldn’t be scientifically proven. Despite this, it remains a popular and influential practice today.

The Planets

In ancient times, people believed the planets represented the will of the gods and directly influenced human affairs. Today, we view the planets as sources of energy that affect our experiences on Earth.

The Zodiac Signs

The Zodiac is made up of twelve constellations that align along the ecliptic plane in our solar system. Each zodiac sign represents different personality traits and characteristics. For thousands of years, astrologers have noticed that the planets’ positions in these signs can affect people born under them.

The Houses

The houses in astrology are twelve segments of the sky, each representing different areas of life. The first house is to the east at the time of your birth, the seventh to the west, the fourth directly below, and the tenth directly above. Each house influences different aspects of your life and experiences.

A Simple Analogy Think of astrology as a university:

  • The Planets are your professors, guiding and influencing you.
  • The Zodiac Signs are your subjects, representing different traits and characteristics.
  • The Houses are your classes, each focusing on different life experiences.

By understanding the roles of the planets, signs, and houses, you can gain insight into your personality, relationships, and life events.
