As this era of music comes to a close, let’s talk about how Aquarius has affected the planet of music, Neptune.
Aquarius rules: technology, the Internet, Social Networking, Trends, Sudden & Unexpected, Nontraditional, Androgyny, LGBT+, Rebellious, Trolling and Weird.
With Neptune being in Aquarius, it gave artist the freedom to do things from a unique perspective. These unique perspectives include: starting new trends, dropping music suddenly and unexpectedly on the internet, rapping off beat, mumbling, being unique, queer and weird.
During this era, artists used technology such as auto-tune and relied HEAVILY on the internet and social network to push their trendy music.
During this era, it was acceptable for artists dress androgynously. I would have never thought it would be trendy for rappers to wear dresses and color their nails different colors, but that’s Aquarian energy for you. Artists were discovered on the internet such as Justin Bieber and Post Malone, just to name a few. This era has been pivotal for the LGBT+ community. It allowed Frank Ocean to come out to the world as gay when he came out with his 1st album, Channel Orange. It allowed artists such as Lil Nas X, Sam Smith, Young MA and countless others to express their unique selves.
